VAESEN is a horror role-playing game set in 19th century Scandinavia on the border between reason and superstition, where creatures from Nordic folk beliefs roam the outskirts of the civilized world.
Players take on the roles of people born with the ability to see things. You know that there are living creatures among us, who have done so for centuries, but the precarious peace between humans and creatures has been shaken. On journeys to distant villages and desolate lands, you encounter creatures - but bullets and steel do not bite them, and only by understanding them can you learn their weaknesses so that you can drive them away. However, the encounter with creatures leaves scars that never truly heal.
The rulebook for VAESEN covers everything you need to get started playing, from rules and character creation to a description of the mythical Nordic world and an introductory adventure. The game is inspired by Johan Egerkrans' paintings.
VAESEN uses the rule system Year 0 Engine. It is a flexible and easily accessible rules system that uses 6-sided dice.

When you place your order, you can choose to pick up your order at one of our stores.
