In this game, one player is the emperor, attempting to complete all seven voyages while protecting the Chinese border from invading barbarians. The other player controls three different clans of barbarians attempting to gain land on the Chinese border. Battles can occur in these areas, and are resolved by rolling the dice.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe Ming Voyages\u003c\/em\u003e uses cards with multiple functions, allowing players to strengthen their armies, attack the enemy, and in the case of the Emperor, to travel. When a card is played, it can give the opponent an action outside their turn, so it takes good timing to play the cards correctly. Only the Emperor draws new cards, and at the end of each turn the players switch hands.
