Secret wooden box in the shape of a cube, designed by Akio Kamei. The dots on the sides are the key to the mechanism – but simply pressing them is not enough.
Karakuri boxes are based on the traditional secret boxes from Hakone-Odawara in Japan. Each box has its own mechanism, invented by the Karakuri Creation Group's own designers, and some open with a single pull, while others require a long series of pushes, turns, and shakes. Each box is cut and assembled by hand.

When you place your order, you can choose to pick up your order at one of our stores.
If you order on a weekday before 3:00 PM, and the item is in stock at the store in question, the item will often be ready for pickup within a few hours.
Please note that the webshop is connected to our warehouse in Copenhagen. When you order for pickup in Aarhus, it can therefore take up to six days before the order is ready for pickup.
Therefore, always wait until you have received an email stating that your order is ready for pickup.
