Philos chessboard in rosewood look - 50 mm
In stock at the following stores: Games København, Games Aarhus
Chessboard from the German maker Philos (model Helsinki) with 50 mm squares and no notation. The board is made of MDF with maple and inlaid squares in a rosewood look, and has a decorative border stripe and rubber feet underneath that keep it in place.
The rosewood look gives the board the same dark and light contrast as a board in solid rosewood, but at a lower price, and the MDF core makes it more dimensionally stable than solid wood. With 50 mm squares the board suits pieces with a king height of 76–83 mm.
