Chess set in cardboard and card from Pop-Up Games, designed by David Hawcock. The board folds up like a pop-up book, and the set comes in a sleeve with pockets for the pieces and a book of rules and tactics.

The board can be closed in the middle of a game and opened again with the pieces still in place, because the pieces sit firmly in the squares. The set contains no plastic and can be recycled. The large edition stands on the bookshelf like a large-format book and is meant for the home, while the pocket edition is the one for travelling.
