The year is 1692 - a dangerous time to be a resident of Salem. One misstep or false accusation and you could be the next to be hanged. As players, you are each one of 12 characteristic people in Salem. Each of you receives 3-5 trial cards that reveal the player's true identity; witch or not. During the game, you try to collect cards that you use to accuse or defend other players. Since you can never play cards on yourself, it is crucial who you choose to trust. If you suspect someone of being a witch, you can play a red accusation card on them. When enough people have cast an accusation on a player, that player must show one of their cards. If the residents of Salem succeed in exposing all the witches in Salem, they win. But they must do it before the witches eliminate them all - or turn them into witches.
