Dixit (Danish)

Dixit is a great game for creative and inventive players.

At the centre of Dixit are the 84 unique cards with beautiful and imaginative illustrations.

Each player holds 6 cards and the players take turns being the 'storyteller'. The storyteller chooses a card from their hand and says a sentence based on the illustration on the chosen card. There are no rules for what may be said; only imagination sets the limit. Anything goes.
The other players then each choose a card from their own hand that fits what the storyteller said. The chosen cards are shuffled together with the storyteller's card and laid face up in the middle of the table.

All players except the storyteller now guess which card is the storyteller's. Points are awarded as follows:

• If nobody OR everybody guesses the right card, the storyteller gets 0 points and all other players get 2 points.
• If the above is not the case, the storyteller and all players who voted for the storyteller's card get 3 points.
• All players get 1 point for each vote their own card receives.

It may sound more complicated than it really is, but the idea is simple: the storyteller must be neither too obvious nor too vague when describing the chosen card, and that is exactly where the game gets really interesting.

Dixit has won a large number of awards and is easy to get into. The game is also an obvious choice for a Danish-lesson unit on fairy tales or a unit focusing on creativity.
