In A Fake Artist Goes to New York, players take turns being the question master. This player chooses a category and then a word within that category on the cards included. These are dealt to the other participants except one, who gets a card with just an X drawn on it. This is the fake artist.
In turn, the players must now work together to draw a picture of what was written on the card. The only problem is that the fake artist does not know what they are drawing. The others, on the other hand, do not want to be so obvious about what they are drawing that the fake artist can work it out. After two rounds, everyone guesses who the fake artist is, and if that player gets away without being discovered, points are awarded.
A Fake Artist ... is a kind of compact Spyfall for people with a bit of an artist in them.
