You are Ali Baba's cousins. After he becomes rich, you keep pestering him until he tells you his secret - the hidden cave of the forty thieves. Now it's your turn to visit the cave and become rich! Take as much as you can, but be careful - you lose track of time in the cave. The thieves return at midnight. If you hear them coming, drop everything and run for your life!
Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is a game about grabbing as much treasure as possible before time runs out and everyone has to scatter. Take risks to earn bigger rewards. Make a secret deal to throw someone else to the thieves. In the end, there can only be one richest scoundrel.
In each round, players take turns revealing an opponent's cards. As long as the sum of all revealed cards does not reach 12, you claim a reward. The longer the round lasts, the higher the reward. Whoever reaches or exceeds 12 receives no reward and is instead punished. Players know their own cards and can share this information (truthfully or not), thereby manipulating how their opponents play.
