The Mind is more than just a game. It is an experiment.
In this small cooperative game, the players are not allowed to talk to each other. Together, however, they have to succeed in playing all of the game's 100 numbered cards in numerical order. Depending on whether there are 2, 3 or 4 players, the group has to get through 12, 10 or 8 levels of deafeningly silent communication. At the start of each level the players receive an increasing number of cards, after which you look your fellow players deep in the eyes, trying to work out whether you might be the one holding the lowest card of the round. If you think you are, you play the card. If that is correct, the group goes on to try to play the next card. If it is wrong, all cards lower than the one played are discarded and the group loses a life. Lose all your lives and you have lost. Manage to get rid of all 100 cards and you win.
The Mind really is a special experience and is without doubt one of the most hyped games of 2018, as underlined by its nomination for the prestigious Spiel des Jahres award.
