In Pax Pamir, the players take the role of Afghan leaders in the 19th century trying to forge a new state after the collapse of the Durrani Empire. During the game you buy cards and play them in front of you - each card adds units to the large board and allows you to take actions that can trip up the other players.
To survive, the players must organise themselves into coalitions. The coalition with the greatest dominance gives victory points to its members during the game - if there is a split, points are awarded based on how powerful each individual player is. The game is partly reset along the way, so there is always a chance of achieving your goals.
A game with plenty of strategy and choices, in which the players constantly affect each other's options.
