"The train to Dunhuang takes three hours," grunts Zhu Bajie, pulling out a deck of playing cards. "Let's play." Sun Wukong smiles. "For real money?" Tang Sanzang frowns, but the Monkey King laughs. "A joke, Master. Don't take it so seriously." He elbows Sha Wujing, who nods cheerfully.
Pilgrim Poker transports the characters of the Chinese classic "Journey to the West" to the modern age.
Pilgrim Poker is a wild game of bluffing and betting. You see everyone's cards except your own. Only a limited number of actions are available each round. Players can raise, make side bets and even change their cards. A round ends when all actions have been claimed. Normally the highest card among those who have not folded wins. Some of the cards have special powers, however, which can lead to an unexpected result. For example, the winner may be the lowest card instead, or odd numbers are all turned to 0.
