Salton Sea
In stock at the following stores: Games København, Games Aarhus
Salton Sea is a unique place in California, very close to the border with Mexico. The characteristics of this salt lake make it a unique place for generating geothermal energy, which draws on the heat of the planet. In this area of intense geothermal activity you drill into the ground and extract brine which, once processed, makes it possible to extract valuable lithium and sell it as part of a modern industry, far removed from fossil fuels, that lets you lead the energy transition towards a fully renewable future.
Salton Sea, designed by David Bernal and illustrated by Amelia Sales, can be played solo or in groups of up to four players, in sessions of around 120 minutes. During the game the players run their geothermal lithium extraction companies to score the most points. Extracting this material and then processing it is the driving force behind the companies.
There is no single route to success, however. The game rewards depleted land, completed contracts, short-term goals, company development and research progress. Will you master the power of the Salton Sea and build the most efficient geothermal company?
