Air, Land & Sea

As a general, you must carefully deploy your forces in three possible areas: air, land, and sea. If you can control two out of three of these areas, you win the current battle. But winning a single battle is not enough to win the game. In fact, sometimes you can surrender and lose a battle on purpose in order to win the larger war.
At the start of each match, you are dealt a hand of 6 cards. You do not draw any more cards, so you must formulate your strategy based on these 6 cards and these 6 cards alone. Players take turns playing 1 card at a time until either all cards have been played or one player decides to surrender.
The order in which you play your cards is critical, as is how you play them. All cards can be played either face up or face down. Face-up cards give you special powers but must be played in a matching area (for example, air cards must be played in the air.) Face-down cards can be played to any area but do not grant any special powers.
At the end of the battle, the winning player earns points based on how many cards are left in their hand. The fewer cards are left in your hand, the more points you earn. This means that the stakes get higher the longer a battle goes on. Thus, sometimes it can be in one's best interest to surrender - to deny your opponent any further points.
