In 1 AM Jailbreak , you'll help prisoners gain their freedom... from your hand. Yes, you have a hand of prisoner cards, and you'll send them through the tunnel so no one gets left behind.
In more detail, from a deck of cards numbered 1-8, with the leaders having a value of your choice, when you play them, each player starts with a hand of twelve cards, and five cards are dealt randomly face up into the "cell", an area near the deck.
If the "tunnel" - an area in the middle of the game - is empty on your turn, you may play 1-3 cards. If you play more than one card, these cards must be of the same value or in sequence. (If you are playing a leader, state its value if it is not obvious.) If the tunnel is not empty, you may play the same number of cards as the previous player, or one card more or fewer. If you cannot play the correct number of cards, or do not wish to, you pass and move all cards in the tunnel to the discard pile.
After rolling, you draw two cards, either from the deck, the cell, or a combination; if you have played, you draw one card, after which you can draw one more if you wish. (Refill the cell to five cards if necessary.)
A little thing about the above: Before you play or roll, you can "shoot forward", that is, add a card to the cards the previous player placed in the tunnel, adding the same number if they played a set, or add a card at one end of their run. By doing so, you drop one more card and give yourself a larger set to play with.
If you empty your hand, you do not draw and skip all future rounds. When 1-2 players have "broken out" - or dawn comes to the bottom of the deck - the round ends; everyone with cards in their hand scores points equal to the size of their hand. After three rounds, the one with the lowest score wins.
