The Tzerzurians have returned to Zura after being locked away behind magical seals for millennia. Over time they had become myths, then whispers from a long-vanished past, but now they are back in this world. No one, the Tzerzurians included, remembers their place in the world any more.
A Way Back Home is a tactical push-your-luck game with a bag-building mechanism that can be played on several boards. The base game contains one double-sided board per player, and more will follow over the next few years. Each board not only expands the story; each also has its own twist on how the game is played and may add new components to interact with.
The core of the game stays the same on every board: players try to connect light sources for different purposes across up to six different paths, while dealing with penalties, the contents of their own bag and the contents of the general pool.
The game includes:
- 120 crystals in 6 different colours
- 4 double-sided player boards
- 4 drawstring bags
- 6 character cards for board 'B'
