Allmoge
'Allmoge paintings' are traditional Swedish folk art, characterised by intricate, hand-painted patterns typically found on objects such as bridal chests and other furniture.
In a game of Allmoge, the players take turns drawing pattern cards from a central supply to build their own pattern. The central supply is organised in alternating layers of face-up and face-down cards, with the bottom layers partly covering the top layers. Drawing starts from the bottom and then moves upwards as the cards are uncovered.
Most symbols on the cards are placed across the edge, so that 2 cards with similar symbols on their edges are needed to create a complete symbol.
A round is over when all cards have been drawn. After each round the start player passes to the left, and when all players have been start player, the game is over.
At the end of the game, each complete symbol in a player's pattern is worth 1 point, and special icons such as the Dala horse give extra points per Dala horse in the player's pattern (1 -> 1 point, 2 -> 4, 3 -> 9 etc.), birds (1 point per adjacent symbol) and blue/yellow flowers (1 point per blue flower in the pattern).
