The innkeeper of the "Vildsvinet" tavern is a sly old dog. Modest guests who do not ask for much are treated to free rounds, while the tap is turned off for the heavy drinkers and the innkeeper keeps the cold beer.
Beer Mug Dice is a dice-rolling game without dice. The dice have been replaced by small beer barrels, and the active player in each round is the innkeeper, who shares the beer with players who keep their wishes modest.
The game contains nine barrels – two of them special barrels – which are rolled out of a dice cup. The bases of the normal barrels show numbers, while the bases of the special barrels show symbols that let the innkeeper double other values or cancel them. After each roll, only the values/symbols of "standing" barrels count.
After the active player has rolled for the first time, the other players secretly place number cards in front of them. The active player then decides whether to re-roll, change the values or end the turn. When the turn is over, the guests reveal their cards and add them together. If the innkeeper's total is less than this sum, the innkeeper wins the round and keeps all the beer, while the guest with the highest card actually loses points. If the innkeeper's total is higher, each player scores the value of the card they played, and the innkeeper keeps the rest.
When one player has at least 75 points, the game ends and the player with the most points wins.
