Carcassonne is a fun family game where you have to develop a province in the area around the French medieval city of Carcassonne . This is done using the 72 included landscape tiles, which are depicted with roads, cities, meadows and monasteries.
On their turn, players must draw a tile from a bag and place it so that it matches the tiles already placed, ala dominoes. Then, if desired, the player may place one of the player's own figures on the tile. If you complete a city, a road or surround a monastery and at the same time have a figure placed in the area, you get points. The winner is the player with the most points when all landscape tiles are placed.
Carcassonne was published in 2000 and with over 10 million copies sold worldwide, it can probably be safely called a new classic.
The Danish and English, new and old expansions for Carcassonne all fit together . However, there may be differences in the appearance of the pieces.
