Abbey & Mayor is the fifth expansion for Carcassonne.
In Abbey & Mayor you get 18 new landscape tiles and 3 new figures in the different player colors.
The 6 new abbey pieces act as jokers and can be placed in 'holes', where they close all adjacent areas. The mayor figure acts like the regular followers, but can only be placed in cities. Their strength is equal to the number of shields in the city. The chariot also acts as a regular follower, but instead of removing the chariot when an area is scored, the chariot can move to an adjacent tile if it is free. The loaders are the last addition and they allow you to score your pawns continuously, instead of having to wait until the game is over.
An expansion with many new modules and variants.
The Danish and English, new and old expansions for Carcassonne all fit together . However, there may be differences in the appearance of the pieces.
