The Princess and the Dragon is the third expansion for Carcassonne. It contains 30 new land tiles with all sorts of new things: Volcanoes, portals, dragons, fairies and princesses.
A landscape tile with a portal can be used to place one of your followers on any free landscape tile. If you place a city tile with a princess, you can kick one of the other players' followers out of the city.
When a volcano is placed, the dragon figure comes into play. Each time a dragon piece is subsequently drawn, the dragon must move 6 times horizontally or vertically from piece to piece. If the dragon bumps into a companion, it will be eaten! On your turn, however, you can choose to use the fairy to protect one of your companions from the dragon,
The Princess & The Dragon changes Carcassonne considerably and makes the game much more confrontational. If you like that kind of thing, you'll love this expansion.
The Danish and English, new and old expansions for Carcassonne all fit together . However, there may be differences in the appearance of the pieces.
