Crokinole is a board game that has some similarities to pitchnut, curling, and shove ha'penny. Players take turns throwing discs across a circular playing board, aiming to hit the highest-scoring areas while attacking and knocking their opponents' discs off the board. The game is particularly popular in North America.

The game is for two or four players (in the latter case, it is played in teams), and the round (or octagonal) board that is played on is typically made of wood and approximately 66 cm in diameter. The board is divided into three concentric rings, which correspond to 5, 10 and 15 points respectively (counted from the edge). In the middle there is a small hole that is worth 20 points, and the innermost ring for 15 points is shielded by eight small rods. The discs that are played with are approximately the size of checkers and slightly smaller than the hole in the middle of the board; there are typically 12 discs per team/player. The discs can also be small, similar to those known from bobsleigh. Similar to bobsleigh, you can choose to reduce friction on the board with, for example, potato flour.

The game involves each team taking turns shooting a target onto the board, typically with their fingers, but it can also be done with a cue, as is known from bobsleigh. When there are opposing targets on the board, you must hit one; otherwise, the target that was shot with is removed from the board. If a target hits the hole, it is removed from the board, and the team to which it belongs gets 20 points. When all targets have been shot onto the board, the points for the two teams are counted, and the winner is the team that has achieved the most points.
