Descent is a deadly adventure game filled with dark caves and terrifying monsters.
Taking on the roles of warriors, wizards and thieves in true RPG style, players must fight their way through caves, caverns, dark forests and grim fortresses, encountering countless monsters that must be defeated in order to complete their mission, which changes in each scenario.
One player takes on the role of the Overlord, whose job it is to make life miserable for the adventurers. The Overlord controls the monsters and must try to stop the other players in their tracks.
Descent features a wide range of scenarios that can be played independently, but work best when played through a campaign, where players' characters gain new abilities, equipment, and become stronger over time. At the same time, however, the overlord also becomes stronger, which means more dangerous monsters and more evil magic.
