Endless Winter: Paleoamericans. The game takes place in North America around 10,000 BC. The players guide the development of their tribes through several generations – from nomadic hunter-gatherers to prosperous tribal societies. During the game the tribes migrate and settle in new lands, establish cultural traditions, hunt Palaeolithic megafauna and build everlasting megalithic structures.
Endless Winter is a European-style game that combines worker placement and deckbuilding in an innovative way. Each round the players send their tribe members to different action areas and pay for the actions by playing cards and spending resources. Tribe cards provide additional labour, while culture cards give a range of unique effects. Alternatively, cards can be saved for an eclipse phase at the end of the round, where they are revealed simultaneously to determine the new player order and trigger various bonus actions.
The game contains an innovative blend of interwoven systems and mechanisms, such as multi-use cards, area influence, tile placement and set collection. In addition, there are many possible paths to victory. After four quick rounds the scores are counted up, and the tribe with the most points wins.
