Endless Winter: Paleoamericans. The game is set in North America around 10,000 BC. Players control the development of their tribes over several generations – from nomadic hunter-gatherers to prosperous tribal societies. Over the course of the game, tribes migrate and settle in new lands, establish cultural traditions, hunt Paleolithic megafauna, and build eternal megalithic structures.
Endless Winter is a European-style game that combines worker placement and deckbuilding in an innovative way. Each round, players send their tribe members to different action areas and pay for their actions by playing cards and spending resources. Tribe cards provide additional labor, while culture cards provide a variety of unique effects. Alternatively, cards can be saved for an eclipse phase at the end of the round, where they are simultaneously revealed to determine the new player order and trigger various bonus actions.
The game features an innovative mix of intertwined systems and mechanics, such as multi-use cards, area influence, piece placement, and set collection. In addition, there are many possible paths to victory. After four quick rounds, the scores are tallied, and the tribe with the most points wins!
