In Vienna, exquisite cafes and hotels compete for customers. Inspired artists, important politicians and tourists from all over the world visit the city and need food in their stomachs and a roof over their heads. In Grand Austria Hotel, you must develop your small cafe into a world-famous hotel by hiring the right people, fulfilling your customers' wishes and winning the emperor's favor.
A player rolls the dice, sorts them in numerical order and places them on the corresponding spaces on the game board. On their turn, each player must choose an action on the game board and the die underneath it determines how much a player gets from this action. The die is then removed and the turn continues. With the various actions, players can provide food and drink for their guests, prepare rooms and hire waiters. But no hotel can grow without guests. Choose carefully which guests you want to attract and make sure you can fulfill their wishes to get bonus points. Many things can and should be done in a magnificent Austrian hotel, but the game only has seven rounds, so you have to prioritize and plan if you are to win.
With 116 different cards and a new setup for each game, Grand Austria Hotel has really high replay value and is an incredibly good game for two people.
