Tarot - not to be confused with tarot - is a card game for four players, where you play with a partner and try to take tricks. A deck of tarot cards consists of 21 trump cards, 4 suits of 14 cards each and a joker card. The rules can vary greatly from country to country.
Fournier's tarot deck closely follows the popular illustrations from the Tarot de Marseille , although with brighter colors and clearer drawings than the woodcuts from the original.
The cards are also often used as fortune telling cards, as the 21 trump cards all depict some symbolic archetypes. This set of cards comes with an English overview of what all the different cards mean in a fortune telling context. The rules for games that can be played with tarot cards are not included.
