Poetry for Neanderthals is a competitive, team-based pop culture word-guessing game in which clues may only be given by speaking in single syllables. So instead of saying "Titanic", you would say something like "this big boat hit big ice. I King of World!". If you slip up and use a big word, such as "iceberg", you get a NO! hit on the head and lose points.
The aim of the game is to score the most points by interpreting words and phrases correctly. The chosen poet starts the game with a poetry card and tries to get their teammates to say the word shown, using only words of one syllable within a time limit of 90 seconds.
