Charles IV has become King of Bohemia and now rules over the entire Holy Roman Empire. From his castle in Prague, one of the largest cities in Europe, he oversees the construction of new buildings that will help make Prague the capital of the Roman Empire: a bridge across the Vltava River, a university, and a cathedral being built within the castle's own walls.
In Praga Caput Regni, players take on the role of wealthy citizens of medieval Prague, expanding their capital and gaining favor with the king as they plan and construct new buildings. Players choose from 6 actions that are always available, but change in cost and benefits throughout the game. The different actions allow players to obtain more resources, enhance the effects of their actions, and build the new magnificent Prague.
The player who has impressed King Charles the most at the end of the game wins.
