Small secret wooden box from the Karakuri Creation Group, no. 2 in the Small Box series. The interior cavity is large enough for a ring or a note.
Karakuri boxes are based on the traditional secret boxes from Hakone-Odawara in Japan. Each box has its own mechanism, invented by the Karakuri Creation Group's own designers, and some are opened with a single pull, while others require a long series of pushes, turns, and shakes. Each box is cut and assembled by hand.
