Risk Legacy

Risk: Legacy is without a doubt the most innovative game in the Risk series and perhaps even one of the most groundbreaking games ever.

Don't worry though. In Risk Legacy you're still fighting with your friends for world domination, and the individual battles are fought more or less as they always have been by rolling a bunch of dice.

However, Risk:Legacy is, unlike other games in the series, a campaign game. This means that the outcome of each game and the decisions players make are carried over to future playthroughs. This approach to the game starts when players choose one of the five factions included in the game. Each faction has different abilities and players must choose one of them, stick the corresponding sticker on the faction card and destroy the remaining sticker that was not chosen. Yes, you heard that right. It must be destroyed, burned, torn up or thrown in the trash. The game is now your unique version of Risk: Legacy.

However, it doesn't stop here.

During the game, it is possible to establish cities, which give bonuses to the city's owner. You can build reinforcements, destroy territory cards or name entire continents by literally writing the name on the game board. All of these changes are permanent. Even the rulebook contains blank lines that can be used for rule changes. Some rules in the book are not used at all until later in the game. The box even contains secret packages that can only be opened when certain conditions are met. We won't reveal what the packages contain here, but we can guarantee that it will be wild.

With individual games lasting only about 90 minutes and for 4-5 friends who can meet regularly, Risk: Legacy is probably the ultimate way to play Risk.
