Six is a seemingly simple-looking abstract strategy game in which two (or four) players take turns placing their colored hexagonal pieces while trying to create one of three "winning shapes" – triangle, hexagon, or line – out of six of their pieces. If all pieces have been placed from the players' hands without anyone winning, players then take turns picking up a previously placed piece and moving it to a new position.
With the advanced rules, players can move a tile that separates all the tiles into two or more groups. Doing so removes some pieces from the game, and this provides an alternative way to win by reducing the opponent to five or fewer pieces (since the opponent cannot possibly form a winning piece).
