Splendor is a family game that has won an incredible number of awards during 2014.
In Splendor, players are merchants from the Renaissance. As a merchant, you are looking for the most beautiful and valuable gemstones, rubies and diamonds, so you can impress the nobles.
On your turn, you can do one of the following actions:
- Collect gems
- Use your gems to buy a development card
- Reserve a development card.
Development cards provide a continuous discount on the purchase of new cards, allowing you to buy more expensive cards in the future. This way, the game escalates because your discounts increase every time you buy a new card.
Splendor is an incredibly simple family game, but at the same time offers a lot of interesting considerations and different strategies.
The way in which you try to build an “engine” that makes it easier to buy cards on your next turns makes the game suitable for teaching mathematics. The students must try to buy the “right” cards that will make their next purchase cheaper.

When you place your order, you can choose to pick up your order at one of our stores.
If you order on a weekday before 3:00 PM, and the item is in stock at the store in question, the item will often be ready for pickup within a few hours.
Please note that the webshop is connected to our warehouse in Copenhagen. When you order for pickup in Aarhus, it can therefore take up to six days before the order is ready for pickup.
Therefore, always wait until you have received an email stating that your order is ready for pickup.
