Takenoko (Danish)
In stock at the following stores: Games København
Peace has been made between Japan and China, and to show his goodwill the Chinese emperor has given a giant panda to the Japanese emperor.
The players have now been given the honourable task of looking after the panda and the emperor's beautiful bamboo garden. That is easier said than done, though, when the garden has to be kept tidy while keeping an eye on the panda that eats the fine bamboo.
Takenoko is an aesthetically beautiful game with attractive figures and attractive landscape tiles, as well as fun bamboo pieces that can be stacked on top of each other. Do not be fooled by the cute style, though, because beneath the surface is a well-functioning game with a fair amount to think about. The players have to make sure the panda gets something to eat, they have to extend the garden and make sure the bamboo plants have enough water. They also have to make sure the gardener tends the garden before the panda has eaten everything.
A family game with a fair amount to think about and several different paths to victory.
