The Stygian Library RPG
The Stygian Library is an eerily elegant dungeon set in an infinite extradimensional library. Each expedition generates its own route as it explores, so new locations are discovered on every visit. It includes, for example:
- Systems for generating locations in the library, including entrance foyers, map galleries, tea rooms, planetariums, calculation engines, phantom databases, paper beehives, phantom pumps, shock brains and the Sheol Computer.
- 40 monsters tailored to the library, including Lantern Bearers, Skeleton Crew, Origami Golems, Guardian Shades, Lost Souls, Ink Elementals, Animated Spells, Archivist-Liches, Infernal Merchants, Escaped Fictions, Educated Rodents, Conceptual Wells and the librarians' own orders.
- A system for searching for specific knowledge in the depths of the library, plus 30 unusual books and the secret knowledge they contain.
- Tables for generating treasure, dreams, rumours and various other useful details.
- A unique class of mummified sages, posthuman academics who have lived in the library for decades or more.
It is a big, eerie library full of dangerous knowledge, spiritual automata and ghost-powered computers.
