UNO Zero is a board card game where the goal is to score as low as possible (ideally zero points, hence the name). Each player starts with a deck of six cards face down in front of them. The grid consists of three columns and two rows. At the start, each player can turn over and reveal two of their cards. Then, all players try to reveal all of their cards face down by drawing one card each time from the deck and swapping it with one of their own cards. Two cards of the same suit or number in one column are discarded. This allows players to get rid of their points.
What's special about UNO Zero is that the typical UNO action cards are part of this game. The reversed card changes the direction of the game. The "draw two" or "draw four" card makes players add more columns to their grid. And the "skip card" makes the next player skip their turn.
That makes this game very dynamic, surprising and fun.
Every round is different, and you can be very lucky and only have two cards left at the very end, or unlucky and still have 12 cards in front of you while another player ends the game.
When there is only one card left in your face-down space, you must say UNO, otherwise you will be penalized for drawing two more cards.
It's easy to learn and get started, as the rules are quickly explained and the famous UNO action cards are already familiar to almost everyone.
