Catan (also known as Settlers or Settlers of Catan ) is perhaps the most popular board game of recent times and is a game that has had a huge impact on the industry.
In Catan , players are settlers competing to become the most successful colonist on the island of Catan. Catan is made up of a series of landscape tiles that provide players with various resources. These resources are used by players to build new roads, houses, and cities.
The island is built up from hexagonal pieces before the game begins and the starting point is therefore different from game to game, which provides a lot of variation.
During the game, players can trade with each other, making it possible to obtain resources that you don't have access to.
Catan 's success is mainly due to the game's perfect combination of luck and strategy. You rarely get bored, as resources are distributed over everyone's turns and because you have the opportunity to trade with each other, there is a good amount of interaction between the players.
A true classic!
NOTE: The English version of Catan has wooden pieces and larger maps than the Danish version, so it only works with other English expansions.
