Catan 2015: Explorers & Pirates (English)
In the fourth expansion of the classic Catan board game (also known as Settlers or Settlers of Catan ) , players must set sail again. Now, three islands must be colonized.
Players start on one of the islands and the location of the other two islands is unknown at the start of the game. Players must build ships and sail out to the islands to explore.
The expansion also introduces gold, which is given to players who do not get resources when rolling the dice. The gold can be exchanged for resources and must also be used against the pirates when they attack.
As with the other Catan expansions, the set comes with a number of scenarios and missions that change the victory conditions and strategies from game to game.
NOTE: The English version of Catan has wooden pieces and larger maps than the Danish version, so it only works with other English expansions. In addition, the 2015 edition contains thicker landscape pieces, which are best suited for the 2015 base game.
